Arrival

The rooms are available from 14.00.

However, as the ferries arrive earlier, while you wait for your room to be readied, you can take a walk in nearby Vari or enjoy a coffee or juice in our garden, or under your umbrella on our beach and – why not – have your first swim in the sea.

You will be given your key-card and the staff will tell you about all the Emily’s services, as well as the entertainment choices available on the island.

Departure

You will need to vacate your room by 12.00 on the day of your departure. If you would like a late check out, you will need to give us plenty of notice, so that we can let you know if it is possible on that day. You may be charged a day rate. You can also arrange a quick check out, you just have to let us know the day before.

In any case, as the ferries usually leave in the afternoon, you can leave your luggage in our luggage room, free of charge.

Charges

Charges for your accommodation will be made to the credit card you have given us, or settled in cash, whatever has been arranged for each booking. Extra charges are automatically made to your credit card. Check out our individual facilities and services and see which are free and which have a reasonable extra charge.

Hotel facilities

There is free Wi-Fi in the common areas, on the beach, and in the rooms. The password is: alex-123.

You can leave your car in the nearby public car park. Although the island is considered safe in terms of theft, it is a good idea to make sure it is locked and that you do not leave any valuables inside. You park at your own risk, as we cannot provide security. For your convenience, there is a driver service to and from the car park.

For the convenience of disabled guests, there is car access to our property, on the same level as the room.

On your arrival, you will be informed of all our facilities and services. You can let us know any specific requirements or needs (allergies, health conditions that require special management, etc.) during your stay, and we can discuss how we can serve you better, depending on what is possible.

We are also at your disposal 24 hours a day, in person or on the phone number we will give you upon your arrival, if there is anything that would make your stay more relaxing or interesting, as long as it is possible for us to do so.

For the safety of your valuables and bearing in mind that the hotel bears no responsibility for any loss or damage, we have a central safe in the hotel available upon arrangement. There are also small room safes available in each room.

You can have your breakfast in your room or the garden, or take it with you at a specific time. We provide seasonal ingredients, home-made dishes, and a personalised menu. We recommend you enjoy your breakfast in the garden between 08.15 and 11.30.

If you need extra cleaning services or would like to order something from the cafe-bar menu to your room, service hours are 08.00 to 22.00. However, if there is any problem with your room, our staff is available 24 hours a day, by calling the number we will give you on your arrival.

On the Emily’s ground floor, right next to reception, you can have coffee, juice, alcoholic or soft drinks, a creative cocktail, or a snack. You can take it with you, or we will serve it in the garden, on the sun loungers on the beach, or in your room. Enjoy something refreshing during the day or something relaxing in the evening, accompanied by the sound of the sea.

The cafe-bar is open from 08.00 to 22.00. In your room, you will find a price list for everything we provide.

The water in your bathroom is not potable, as the central water supply on Syros is provided by a desalination unit. It is, however, perfectly safe for personal hygiene use.

For drinking water and ice, we have chosen to trust and cooperate with the local company Syringas, which supplies Emily’s special tanks with drinking water. This water is collected non-invasively (is it running not pumped) from the natural spring in the area of the same name, with respect for the environment. Of course, we have bottled water if you wish it, for an extra charge.

We have provided two sun loungers under an umbrella for each room. There is no extra charge for our guests. One of us is always available on the beach to meet your individual needs and serve items from the cafe-bar.

If you need to use a PC temporarily, we can provide you with one free of charge. The staff in reception will provide you immediately with any printing, faxing, or photocopying needs you may have.

Any incoming mail or parcels will be sent straight to your room. We will also send any correspondence or parcels by post or courier service.

If you need a doctor, our staff will help you find one, call an ambulance, or transport you to Syros General Hospital. We can also help you find open pharmacies on the island, which operate either during regular opening hours or all night.

We will help you with your luggage during your arrival and departure. We also have a luggage room where you can leave your luggage from the time you vacate your room until you leave the hotel.

When you make your booking, you can let us know if you would like us to collect you from the port or the airport in our vehicle, for a reasonable charge. In the same way, our vehicle is at your service whenever you need to get around. We can also help you call a taxi free of charge or help you find the most convenient of the island’s bus routes on the table which is always hanging up in reception.

The electricity voltage throughout the hotel is 220V.If your electrical or electronic devices have a different setting, we can provide you with transformers. There is no power supply in the sun lounging area, to create the least possible disturbance to the natural environment. You can, however, charge your phone or tablet in the reception area or at special points in the Emily’s garden.

In-room facilities

There is cooling and heating available in every room, as well as a remote control to set the temperature to your personal preference. The air conditioning in your room will turn off automatically when you open the windows or doors, out of respect for the environment. You should know that the location of the hotel ensures the perfect natural temperature conditions in almost all seasons.

We are especially careful to keep all areas of the hotel scrupulously clean, especially the rooms. When you first enter your room, you can be sure that all fabrics and surfaces have been carefully cleaned and sterilised for your arrival. The mattresses are also certified hypo-allergenic and are steam cleaned regularly.

The rooms are cleaned daily up to 14.00. This includes making the bed, removing rubbish, cleaning the bathroom, and floors. We also provide a second cleaning service in the afternoon if you request it in advance.

There is a room safe in every room, as well as clear instructions for its use. If you have any difficulties operating it, our staff are available to help you. We must make it clear that the hotel bears no responsibility for the loss of valuables from your room. You can also arrange to use the central safe.

To protect the environment from the unnecessary use of water, which is becoming scarcer on the planet, and from detergents that ultimately pollute the sea, we follow a rule with which we are sure you will agree: towel on the floor of the bathroom means ‘change’, towel hanging up means ‘I will use it again’.

For your safety, we do not allow the white room towels to be used on the beach. However, we can provide you with beach towels.

The rooms have a standard type, however, we have a supply of alternative types for guest who have different preferences.

All ground floor rooms are prioritised for guests with disabilities, to make their stay easier. For those with mobility issues, we have designed a specific room with all the necessary adaptations in the living area and bathroom. There are also ramps for wheelchair access to all the exterior areas, to the beach, and to the Emily’s ground floor. There is parking for vehicles with a disabled badge in the area outside the hotel close to the rooms.

We will wake you up at the time you request, just let us know the previous evening.

We provide a cleaning and/or ironing service charged accordingly. You can leave your laundry with us in reception in the morning, and we will return them washed and dried to your room the next day. If you require dry cleaning, your clothes will be returned in 2-3 days. Please inform us promptly if there is anything about the washing we should know.
